Central Asia

 

China - Performed geologic and reservoir engineering audit of reserve evaluation of the offshore CFD 2-1 Field located in Bohai Bay. Assessed development plan feasibility using reservoir simulation, and prepared economic analyses taking into consideration the terms of the Production Sharing Contract.

China - Completed a probabilistic reserve evaluation of the PY 4-2 and PY 5-1 Fields located in Contract Area 15/34 of the Pearl River Basin, South China Sea. These two fields contain a total of 73 structural oil zones. The field studies and probabilistic assessments incorporated geophysics, geology, petrophysics, and reservoir engineering.

China - Performed geologic and engineering studies of reserves and resources for various coalbed methane PSC blocks located in the Qinshui, Huainan, and Ordos Basins; Pingle Depression; Qingshan Syncline; and Qinling tectonic zone for clients including Green Dragon Gas and Far East Energy. Prepared engineering and geologic reports for inclusion in Competent Person's Reports using guidelines from Chapter 18 of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.

China - Ongoing project to build and maintain simulation models for the Panyu 4-2 and 5-1 Fields. Geocellular (Petrel) model was provided as geological input into dynamic reservoir model; the models are used for development planning and provide inputs to reserves bookings.

Kazakhstan - Performed geologic and engineering reserves analysis of the North Caspian Sea area including Kashagan Field, the Kalamkas Discovery, and the Aktote, Kairan, and Kashagan SW Prospects. Included seismic and petrophysical analysis, volumetric calculations, reservoir simulation review, and flowstream modeling.

Kazakhstan - Conducted detailed geologic and engineering reserves study of Chinarevskoye Field, incorporating seismic, petrophysical, and fluid property analysis; volumetric and material balance calculations; and wellbore deliverability modeling.

Kazakhstan - Completed engineering and waterflood feasibility studies of the Alibekmola and Dunga Fields that included deliverability and pattern analysis using 2-D models.

Kazakhstan - Evaluated post-salt producing fields and new discoveries and post-salt, sub-salt, and pre-salt prospects and leads for five licenses in the PreCaspian Basin. Work included prospect risk evaluation and probabilistic analysis leading to volumetric estimates and flowstreams.

Kazakhstan - Conducted detailed geologic and engineering reserves study of the Sazankurak Field. Incorporated seismic, petrophysical, and fluid property analysis along with reservoir simulation to determine development plans, recovery factors, and reserve projections.

Taiwan - Conducted a comprehensive study of the gas and condensate reserves of the F Structure Field in the Tainan Basin on behalf of Chinese Petroleum Company.

Turkmenistan - Conducted geological and engineering evaluations of the Gubkin, Barinov, and Livanov offshore gas fields and the Kotur-Tepe onshore oil field.

Southeast Asia

 

India - Completed an integrated study of the PY-3 Field, offshore Cauvery Basin, incorporating 3-D seismic interpretation, petrophysical and fluid property analyses, and reservoir simulation to model field development.

India - Conducted a reserves and contingent resources assessment of the Panna, Mukta, South Tapti, and Mid Tapti Fields in the Mumbai Offshore Basin on behalf of BG Exploration and Production India Limited. Work included 3-D seismic interpretation, depth conversion, log interpretation, petrophysical evaluation, Petrel structural and property modeling, probabilistic assessment of original oil-in-place and original gas-in-place, decline curve analysis, material balance modeling, and reservoir simulation for the 4 fields, which range from mature developments to an appraised but largely undeveloped field.

Indonesia - Conducted a reserve certification of the Salawati Basin and Salawati Island Fields in northwest Irian Jaya on behalf of ANZ Bank and Pearl Energy PTE Ltd. Included interpreting 3-D seismic data, incorporating well control and well test information in several carbonate reservoir fields, and performing deterministic and probabilistic reserve estimates. Analysis also included operations verification of required capital expenses and operating expenses.

Indonesia
- Prepared a reserve certification for the Mengoepeh Field in South Sumatra. Included an integrated geophysical, geological, petrophysical, and engineering study including 3-D seismic interpretation, reservoir mapping, assessment of well test data, and review of the operator's proposed development plan. This high-pour-point oil development required significant work on offset analogous fields to support the reserve estimates. Summarized our estimates of probabilistic reserves and after-tax cash flow analysis using a PSC economics model developed jointly between the sponsor, lender, and NSAI.

Indonesia - Prepared estimates of reserves and future revenue for Abab, Raja, and Dewa Fields located onshore South Sumatra and for Bawean Block located offshore East Java. We reviewed the Enhanced Oil Recovery Contract for Abab, Raja, and Dewa Fields; the Bawean Production Sharing Contract; and applicable Indonesian fiscal terms and developed a detailed economic model for each field.

Indonesia - Reviewed the gross reserves and operating costs for potential acquisition of the P.T. STANVAC Indonesia (a joint venture between ESSO and Mobil Corporation) properties located in central and southern Sumatra. Study included the Kampar, Rimau, and Pasemah Production Sharing Contracts and was conducted on behalf of Goldman Sachs (Asia), L.L.C. and its partners.

Indonesia
- Prepared estimates of reserves and net revenue for oil and gas assets located in the Kutei Basin in East Kalimantan. These assets include Badak, Nialm, Semberah, Mutiara, Lampake, and Beras Fields.

Indonesia
- Performed geological and engineering study of oil and gas reserves for the Natuna Sea A contract area on behalf of P.T. Tripatra.

Indonesia - Conducted a study of reserves and net revenue for the Rengasdengklok Field in West Java.

Indonesia
- Prepared annual estimates of reserves, production flowstreams, and net revenue for the Mudi Field, located onshore East Java, on behalf of EEX Corporation. Also prepared reserve estimates for the smaller Sukowati Field located approximately 10 kilometers southwest of Mudi Field.

Indonesia
- Completed a resources evaluation of the North Kangean Block located in the East Java Sea in the Sakala Subbasin. Probabilistic methods were used to estimate original oil-in-place as well as contingent and prospective resources. Screening level economics were run to determine the potential for commercial viability.

Malaysia
- Prepared reserve estimates on behalf of a national oil company for the Helang Field and the Lelang discovery in Block SK-10, offshore Sarawak.

Malaysia - Conducted a reserve evaluation and resource assessment for the fields and discoveries of Block SK-8, offshore Sarawak, on behalf of a national oil company. This includes the Jintan Field and the Serai, Saderi, Selasih, Bijan, and Cilli Padi discoveries.

Malaysia/Vietnam - Evaluated hundreds of oil and gas reservoirs in numerous gas fields in the Malay Basin, offshore Malaysia and offshore Vietnam, over multiple years for a major international independent producer headquartered in Canada.

Myanmar (Burma) - Completed geological and engineering review of the Yetagun and North Yetagun Fields for Emerging Markets Partnership.

Philippines - Performed a field study of the Camago-Malampaya Oil Leg (CMOL) located in Malampaya Field, offshore Republic of the Philippines. The study included a probabilistic reserves analysis and economic analysis. Also developed a reservoir simulation model to match the MA-10 extended well test and forecast recoverable reserves and production profiles associated with various development scenarios involving horizontal drillwells.

Thailand - Conducted an integrated reserve certification study and after-tax revenue assessment for the Jasmine Field in the Gulf of Thailand. Nineteen delineation and appraisal wells were evaluated and incorporated in the 3-D seismic interpretation. Probabilistic reserves were estimated for over 30 separate reservoirs, and the operator's development plan was reviewed in detail.

Thailand - Performed a geological and engineering review of Tantawan and Benchamas Fields located in the Gulf of Thailand.

Vietnam - Evaluated proved, probable, and possible undeveloped reserves and exploration potential and future revenue to the Offshore Production & Exploration Company, Inc. interest in gas properties located in the Block 12E Concession, offshore Nam Con Son Basin.

Australia/Oceania

 

Australia - Conducted a geophysical, geological, and engineering study of the 5-field Greater Gorgon Complex on the North West Shelf of Australia on behalf of Western Australia Pty. Ltd. for use in reserve certification for an LNG project. Included reservoir characterization using geo-statistical models for prediction of reservoir continuity and connectivity, statistical integration of multiple 3-D seismic attributes and well data to predict net sand distribution, and a probabilistic assessment of in-place gas volumes.

Australia - Conducted a study of the Dawson Seamgas and Petroleum Lease 94 coal seam gas projects located in the Bowen Basin on behalf of Anglo Coal (Dawson Management) Pty Ltd. Estimated original gas-in-place and proved, probable, and possible reserves and future revenue for the leases, which produce from the Baralaba Coals. The data available for this study came from over 20,000 wells drilled by several companies to establish the location of the coal seams and the viability of mining these coals.

Australia - Estimated the proved, probable, and possible reserves and future revenue to the Santos, Ltd. interest in the Scotia Field Coalbed Methane Project in Queensland. Conducted operational review of the field and made advisory recommendations regarding optimization of drilling, completion, and field operating practices. Our review of the geology included preparation of structure and isopach maps for the Baralaba C1, C2, C3, and C4 coals.

Australia - Prepared estimates of the original gas-in-place and proved, probable, and possible reserves for the Moranbah coalbed methane project located on CH4 Pty Ltd's Authority to Prospect 364 in the Bowen Basin of Queensland. Determined original gas-in-place for 4 coal seams based on volumetric calculations that incorporated our estimates of reservoir area, net coal thickness, coal density, gas content, and gas saturation. Estimates of expected recovery efficiencies and reserves are based on regional permeability distribution, the early success of a pilot horizontal well development in a single coal seam, CH4's active work program, and the expected development of a local gas sales market.

Australia - Estimated the proved, probable, and possible coalbed methane reserves and future revenue for the Dawson River, Moura, and Nipan Fields located on Petroleum Lease (PL) 94 in the Bowen Basin for Molopo Australia N.L. Also evaluated the exploration potential of Authority to Prospect 564P located to the northwest of PL 94.

Australia - Conducted an exploration review of multiple coalbed methane projects located in the Cooper, Gunnedah, onshore Bass/Gippsland, and onshore Otway Basins for Planet Gas Limited.

Australia - Evaluated coalbed methane reserves in the Maules Creek and Hoskinsson coal seams on the 2.24-million acre Petroleum Exploration License 238 Block of the Gunnedah Basin, New South Wales, for Gastar Exploration, Ltd. Also estimated the distribution of gross resource potential for the block including the P90 (lowside), P50 (most likely), and P10 (upside) cases.

Australia - Conducted exploration analysis of the Purus Energy Limited 100 percent interest in 2 granted Exploration Licenses and 7 Exploration License Applications located in the onshore Otway Basin in the State of Victoria. These 9 licenses have a combined surface area of 15,752 square kilometers.

Australia - Evaluated the interest owned by Tipperary Oil and Gas (Australia) Pty Ltd in the Comet Ridge Coalbed Methane Project located in the Northern Surat Basin of Queensland. Completed a geological, geophysical, and reservoir engineering evaluation including a field inspection of the properties. The project area, referred to as Fairview Field, encompasses 278,000 acres and has gas reserves and original gas-in-place per well that are among the highest in the world.

Australia - Estimated the proved, probable, and possible reserves and future revenue for the Berwyndale and Argyle coalbed methane projects (Authority to Prospect 632P and 620P) in the Surat Basin on behalf of Queensland Gas Company Limited. These reserves are generally contained in 6 coal seam packages referred to as Upper Macalister, Middle Macalister, Lower Macalister, Nangram, Wambo, Iona, and Argyle. Our review of the geology included an analysis of the wellbore logs to determine net coal pay, structural control, and lateral continuity. We estimated the volumetric original gas-in-place for each of the existing and future drilling units in the field.

Australia - Estimated the probable and possible reserves for coalbed methane properties located in the Arrow Energy N.L. (Arrow) Tipton West Area in Authority to Prospect 683P in the Surat Basin, Queensland. Conducted simulation studies to assess the expected gas and water production flowstreams, pressures, well spacing, and gas contents within the project area under various depletion scenarios.

Australia - Conducted a reserve evaluation on the East Spar, Harriet Wonnich, Campbell, Gipsy, and Rose Fields off the North West Shelf of Australia for potential acquisition by a major financial institution.

Australia - Performed geologic and reservoir engineering assessment of the Sunrise and Troubador Fields in the Timor Sea, offshore Northern Australia, as part of a larger scale reserve estimation project for a large independent oil and gas company.

Australia - Conducted a geophysical, geological, and engineering study of Jansz-Io Field on the North West Shelf on behalf of the Jansz-Io Joint Venture for use in reserves certification for a potential LNG project. Included 3-D seismic interpretation and reservoir characterization using geo-statistical models for prediction of reservoir properties and a probabilistic assessment of in-place and recoverable gas volumes.

Australia - Have conducted several independent evaluations of in-place volumes and reserves and/or contingent resources for fields offshore Australia on behalf of Woodside Energy Ltd. Included reviews of the fields' development and operational plans, full geological and petrophysical reviews and, in some cases, reservoir simulation modeling. Fields evaluated include the Cossack, Wanaea, Lambert, and Hermes producing oil fields on the North West Shelf; the Vincent and Stybarrow oil fields; the Persephone and Thylacine gas fields; the Enfield, Geographe, and Xena Fields; the Calliance and Brecknock Fields of the Browse Basin LNG Project; and the undeveloped Lambert Deep gas field. Also audited the estimates of gas and condensate reserves for North Rankin Field.

New Zealand - Served as independent expert for the determination of economically recoverable reserves in the offshore Maui Field. Work included independent seismic interpretation and mapping, multilayer depth conversion, detailed petrophysical analysis, and simulation modeling.

Papua New Guinea - Conducted a geological and engineering study of the Hides Field on behalf of the operator, Esso PNG, for use in certifying reserves for the Papua New Guinea to Australia Gas Project.

Papua New Guinea - Conducted a geophysical and engineering reserve certification and reserves and deliverability study for Gobe Main, Southeast Gobe, Kutubu, Southeast Mananda, and Moran Fields located in the Papuan Fold Belt on behalf of Oil Search Limited.
