Shale Gas

Shale gas developments have experienced explosive growth in recent years. The Newark East Field producing from the Barnett Shale is now the largest natural gas field in Texas. North Texas producing shale gas wells have increased from a few hundred in the late 1990s to over 10,000 today, and there is potential for over 30,000 future wells within a 15-county area. Netherland Sewell has been involved with its clients since the beginning of this exciting opportunity, lending judgment and expertise based on thousands of hours of relevant experience. Our team of experts understands this prolific formation and the drivers behind its growth.

We continue to build our expertise by working with numerous clients who are active in the major shale gas plays located throughout the United States. Our insights are delivered on the lease, local, and regional levels. NSAI maintains a Barnett Shale regional mapping system, and has developed type curves based on thousands of producing wells grouped by area and completion type. Our team will work with you to quantify your reserves, optimize your development strategies, and identify your expansion opportunities. And, when it comes to financing or acquisition and divestiture activity, you can trust that an evaluation by NSAI will be highly respected by the industry and financial community.
